Lapa Rios

Lapa Rios is owned by John and Karen Lewis. When they visited the property for the first time , they thought that they can develop their Eco lodge and after establishing the lodge they named it Lapa Rios. Lapa is the Costa Rican name of the Scarlet Macaws and when John and Karen visited the place they spotted a number of Scarlet Macaws and flying across the jungle that looked much like a river (or Rio in Spanish) of Scarlet Macaws and from that they inspire to name their Eco Lodge “Lapa Rios”.

Lapa Rios located in a private nature reserve spread over 1,000 acres of Central America’s last remaining lowland tropical rainforest in Costa Rica. The 930-acre Lapa Rios Reserve helps buffer the Osa Peninsula’s Corcovado National Park—home to 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity—and serves as a wildlife corridor. This incredible environment will let you enjoy a lifetime rainforest adventures and ocean activities.
